Apologies for the lack of updates to this blog, but there has been a transition of power here at MacGuffin, I’m Becca the new(ish) Digital Editor.
Just to let you all know, we are currently experiencing an issue with new sign ups at the moment, so if you have signed up to MacGuffin recently, you won’t have received your email to activate your account. Please bear with us while we work to resolve the issue, and once we have I will get in touch with everyone who has been unable to activate their account.
Now on to happier news: we have a number of events lined up over the next couple of months that you may be interested in attending.
Firstly, we will be hosting a workshop as part of Oldham Libraries Digital Festival on Saturday 25th March, where I’ll be showing you how easy it is to record and upload your text and audio to MacGuffin, and use it as an editing tool. It’s free to attend, you just need to register your interest on Eventbrite by the 17th of March.
Next up, we’ll be recording at The Real Story‘s event on Thursday 30th March at Gullivers (Northern Quarter). Lauren Elkin (author of ‘Flâneuse’) is headlining this live event, with the rest of the line-up TBC and tickets on sale soon, so keep an eye on the Facebook event for more details. If you can’t make the event, then look out for content from it being uploaded on macguffin.io.
Lastly, we’re looking forward to recording at a future Stories at the Storey event. Stories is a free monthly story open mic night where people can share stories based around a loosely interpreted theme. They are held at The Storey in Lancaster on the last Thursday of the month. If you’re interested in attending you can email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a slot to share your story with an intimate, engaged audience. Stay tuned for an announcement about a date and time when we’ll be recording at one of these nights.
That’s all for now, but if you have any questions, queries or have an event/festival you’d like to involve MacGuffin in, email email@example.com.
